Best trading platforms and brokers in Kenya

Two rankings of the brokers we tested: forex brokers by overall score, and trading platforms by our web platform and app scores.

Built for Kenyan traders, not generic global lists

Regulation, funding and currency costs differ for Kenyan residents. We track the details that decide it locally.

Which regulator applies

The CMA licenses forex brokers in Kenya, but the company that holds your account may be licensed somewhere else. We name it, and check it on the register.

Understand Kenyan regulation →

Licence checks

We check what each licence actually permits: introducing clients or passing on their trades is not the same as holding their money.

How the CMA licenses brokers →

Investor protection

We record whether any compensation scheme covers your account, and up to what amount. The CMA's Investor Compensation Fund does not: it covers stockbrokers and dealers, not online forex brokers.

KES & currency costs

We compare account currencies, funding routes and the conversion charges that quietly decide what a trade costs when you deposit in KES.

How we review and rank brokers

Every review scores ten categories from primary sources: the regulator's register, the broker's fee schedule and its account terms. Safety carries the most weight, the overall score is calculated rather than written by hand, and measured figures come from a funded account or are marked pending.

Be aware of brokers operating without a Kenyan licence

Before you deposit, check that the broker is licensed by the CMA for the service you are being sold. Our warning list collects the public alerts about unlicensed and cloned firms.

BestForexBroker FAQ

What is BestForexBroker?
An independent broker comparison site for Kenyan investors. We rank brokers on structured data and the regulators' registers, and name the entity that would onboard you.
How does BestForexBroker review brokers?
We score ten categories, with safety weighted most, and calculate the overall score from them. Measured figures come from a funded account or are marked pending.
How does BestForexBroker make money?
We may earn a commission when you open an account through our links. The broker pays it, not you, and it does not affect our ratings.
Is forex trading legal in Kenya?
Yes. The CMA licenses the online forex brokers that offer it. Look for a broker licensed by the CMA, and check that the company holding your account is the licensed one.
Which brokers have the most education material?
Of the brokers we have reviewed, XM. Its app has a 48-lesson video course, platform tutorials, live beginner and advanced rooms and an economic calendar, and its research and education score is the highest in our reviews. We looked through the material but did not complete a course. XM's CMA-licensed Kenyan company holds the account, and its EUR/USD spread was wider than most, about 2 pips. Education does not reduce the risk of trading: most retail CFD accounts lose money.
Is my money protected if a broker fails?
It depends on the company that holds your account. A CMA-licensed broker must keep your money in a segregated client account, apart from its own. That is not compensation, and no statutory scheme provides any: the CMA's Investor Compensation Fund covers stockbrokers and dealers, not online forex brokers.
Can I compare broker fees on BestForexBroker?
Yes. Our rankings compare fees from each broker's published schedule, and measured costs from our funded accounts.
Does BestForexBroker provide investment advice?
No. Our content is for information only. Trading leveraged products carries a high risk of losing money.
