Forex Calculators for Kenyan Traders

Use these free forex calculators to work out what a pip is worth, what a price move makes or loses, the position size that matches a loss limit you set and how much margin a position ties up. Every calculator opens in Kenyan shillings, lets you switch to your account currency, and shows how the result is worked out.

They are educational tools, not investment advice. Anything converted between currencies uses reference rates, dated and rounded, not live rates, so a converted figure is an estimate rather than a quote.

The four calculators, all free to use

Tool

Pip calculator

What one pip is worth on a standard, mini or micro lot, or any size you enter, in KES or your account currency.

Where a pair is quoted in another currency, the pip value is converted at reference rates, so it is an estimate rather than a quote.

Tool

Profit calculator

The profit or loss on a buy or a sell between two prices, in pips, in the pair's quote currency and in your account currency.

This is the result of the price move before costs: the spread, commission and overnight swap are not included, so a real trade will differ. Each broker's costs are in our reviews.

Position size calculator

The position size at which a stopped-out trade would lose about the amount you set, before spread and slippage. A stop does not guarantee the exit price. Enter a risk amount and a stop distance, and it works out the size.

Pip values use reference rates, so every figure is an estimate.

Tool

Margin calculator

How much of your balance a position ties up as margin at a given leverage, and what a 1 percent move against it costs.

The leverage choices are examples. Kenya's CMA caps retail leverage at 1:400, and your broker may offer less, so check your account terms.

Choosing a broker

Filter the brokers we review by markets, M-Pesa and other funding routes, a KES account and swap-free.

Tool

Broker filter

Four filters: what you trade, M-Pesa, a KES account and swap-free. It shows the brokers that meet them, with the company that would hold your account and its CMA licence.

It orders results on licence and product fit, not on our review scores, and includes only brokers whose review is finished, from a funded account we opened.

How our tools work

Every calculator uses a standard formula, written out on its own page next to a worked example run by the same code the tool uses. Nothing you type is sent to us or saved in your browser. And no broker pays to change a result: we may earn a commission when you open an account through our links, but that never touches the maths or our ratings. See how we make money.

None of the calculators reads our broker records. They work on the figures you enter, the conventions of each instrument (its pip size and contract size) and a set of dated reference exchange rates. A converted figure is an estimate at those rates, not a quote, because your broker converts at its own rate.

The broker filter is the exception: it reads the records behind our reviews when the site is built, so the company, licence and funding facts it shows are the ones on each review. It does not rank on our review scores, and a partner broker never ranks above an equal match.

Tools FAQ

Are these forex calculators free?
Yes. None of them asks you to register, hand over an email address or open an account first.
Do the calculators work in KES?
Yes. Every calculator opens on KES and lets you switch the account currency to USD, EUR or GBP. Most live Kenyan accounts are held in US dollars, so the account-currency switch is the one many traders will use.
Are the exchange rates live?
No. The tools use reference rates, rounded and dated, and the current set is as of 23 October 2026. They are good for an estimate; a bank, broker or money-transfer service converts at its own rate, which will differ.
Does anything I type get sent to you?
No. The calculators run in your browser and keep nothing you type: nothing is sent to a server and nothing is saved in your browser. The broker filter keeps your answers in the page and its address only, so a link can be shared.
Do the results include the spread, commission and swap?
No. These tools work on the price move and the position only, before costs. The profit calculator shows the result of the move, the margin calculator shows what a position ties up rather than what it costs to hold, and the pip and position-size tools are pre-cost too. Each broker's spread, commission and swap are in our reviews.
Is any of this investment advice?
No. The tools show what a pip, a price move, a position size or a margin works out to on your numbers. Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains, and most retail accounts lose money trading these products. For personal advice, speak to a regulated adviser.
