Why Kenya-specific broker research matters

Regulation, funding and currency costs differ for Kenyan residents, and global “best broker” lists rarely capture it.

A brand may be regulated somewhere impressive while the entity that onboards you holds a narrower permission. We track that entity, its regulator and the protection that applies. The commonest surprise is currency: most Kenyan accounts are held in US dollars, so shillings paid in by M-Pesa are converted on the way in and again on the way out, and that round-trip cost can be larger than the spread on the trades themselves.

How we review brokers

Every broker is scored in ten categories, including Kenyan suitability. The overall score is a weighted mean, with safety and regulation carrying 23%.

Regulatory claims are checked on the regulator’s register, and fees against the broker’s current documents.

Spreads and withdrawal times come from a funded account; anything not yet measured is marked pending.

Editorial independence

We may earn a commission from some brokers we review, and a commercial relationship never sets a score.

No broker pays for placement or ranking order.
